Evan and George are fine woodworkers whose skills have transformed our main floor. We just finished our third large project with them, spread over 14 years and two homes. They have fine attention to detail, a great design eye, and ask good questions to understand what we are looking for so they can best deliver it.

On our recent project, they helped us define a very long open concept space into three distinct living spaces with custom built ins, and then rebuilt our fireplace, mantle and family room. When I say attention to detail, they shaped each edge stone to make sure the side stones were covered, without us even thinking to ask. They also built out a coffee bar, which blended perfectly into the kitchen updates we did with them 10+ years ago and still looks great.

The team is highly recommended, keeps an exceptionally clean job site, and exceeds expectations every time. They are a team that has high integrity and can be recommended without hesitation, and pictures don’t do their craftsmanship justice.

Nyenhuis Construction is two Master Carpenters with a lot of widely varying experience. They originally repaired a mud room several years ago after a massive tree limb fell on it. You would not know it had been extensively repaired.

Recently, they did a superb job on the restoration of our extended porch and gazebo on an 1880s Niagara farmhouse which had fallen into disrepair from neglect and a large tree limb falling on it. The project involved replacing several structural beams while leaving the bulk of the structure in place. In short, it looks better than the original and you would not know it had been significantly restored. They also came up with a creative solution to some (75) rotting roof rafter tips, repaired a garden stairway, redid a lot of wooden railing and fixed several deteriorating windows. They combine a unique mix of creativity, skilled carpentry and woodworking, making components when we could not find anything close to the original. I could not recommend them more highly.

They also reliable and turn up every day for work, not always a common trait in contractors!
